Overview of the digital nomad landscape: research report

Our report explores the experiences, motivations, and work habits of digital nomads—individuals who frequently change locations while working remotely—highlighting how their mobile lifestyles reshape traditional work structures. Drawing on data from the E-Wanderlust project, led by researchers at the University of Ljubljana, we focus on 502 “true nomads” who relocate several times a year and are not tied to a single location. The report examines how digital nomads navigate the blurred boundaries between work, life, and leisure, and how this impacts their overall well-being. By analyzing their behaviors and backgrounds, our research contributes to a deeper understanding of digital labor, mobility, and the evolving nature of work in a globally connected world.
